1. Sergei Avdeyev got younger by the effect of relativity  

This might sound too avant-garde to be true but it did happen. The effect of relativity made Sergei Avdeyev (an astronaut) younger by a fraction of a second on his return to earth after spending 747 days in space.  

2. You can float on the Dead Sea even if you don’t know how to swim

The Dead Sea’s so dense with salt that you will easily be able to float on it. Even if you don’t know how to swim, you’ll not drown in the Dead Sea.

3. Chewing gum was invented as a form of dental exercise

A dentist named William Semple invented the chewing gum as a form of a dental exercise.

4. Mount Everest would’ve been underwater if placed in the Mariana’s Trench

If Mount Everest were placed in the Mariana Trench (the deepest known part of the world oceans), the peak would still be almost a mile underwater.  

5. A major portion of the universe is missing

We have said that a major portion of the universe is missing. It’s actually not right. In fact, almost the entire universe is missing.

In all probabilities, it can be said that there are more than 100 billion galaxies in the cosmos. Each galaxy has an average of 10 million stars in it. Our sun is a tiny part of this vast universe. We think that the universe has an awful lot of visual matter. But to tell you the truth, it can be said that the presence of visual matter accounts for about 2% of the universe.

But there’s more due to the presence of gravity. Despite the presence of visible matter, it can be said that it doesn’t account for the gravitational pull exerted on the universe. So there must be something more. It’s nowadays called dark matter. And there’s something else known as dark energy. We have little to almost no knowledge about these two things.

6. Wormholes are believed to exist all around us  

This is just a belief. There’s no firm source that proves this fact though. Many physicists believe that wormholes (Wormhole is a shortcut though time and space) exist all round us. But these wormholes are believed to be smaller than atoms.

7. Lightning strikes

The lightning strikes around 6000 times/minute on the Earth.

8. There’s a rock that floats on water

Pumice is a rock that floats on water.

9. Sunlight can penetrate water to a certain level

Sunlight is able to penetrate clean ocean water to a depth of around 73 meters (240 ft).

10. Light’s affected by gravity
