Questions for You

Q: What teaching methods do you use to help students learn Math concepts and solve problems?

I introduce the lesson and give a bit of background focusing mainly on what the student would have done in the previous grade. This is to help refresh their memory before delving into the new a little bit more advanced subject content.

Q: Do you have experience with online teaching platforms or virtual tutoring, and what is your preferred method of communication with students?

I have vast experience working online. I prefer emails but WhatsApp messages is also fine.

Q: What Math topics or concepts are you particularly skilled in teaching, and how do you keep up to date with changes in the curriculum?

I can teach basically every content in the new CAPS syllabus. This ranges from the whole numbers all the way to geometry, from Grade 8 all the way to Grade 12.

Q: How do you communicate with parents about their child's progress and any challenges they may be facing in learning Math?

I communicate via WhatsApp or emails, and phone calls as well if needs be.

Q: Do you provide any additional resources or materials to supplement your lessons, such as practice exercises or online tutorials?

Every time after the lesson, I send my notes to the student. The notes are always accompanied by more challenging questions based on what we would have done that day.

Q: What is your approach to homework assignments, and how do you ensure students understand the concepts covered in class?

I don't do homework for students, but I help them understand better so they can tackle the homework themselves. This is to help them grasp the content even better and help work together with their school teacher. It also helps them prepare for their school exams.

Q: What steps do you take to ensure that your teaching approach is compatible with the student's learning style?

The first lesson is always about gaining an understanding of the student so I can be able to tailor my teaching methods.

Q: Do you have experience working with students with learning disabilities or special needs, and how do you adapt your teaching methods to accommodate their needs?

I have experience working with them, and I always try to strengthen my communication with my parents. This is to ensure we are on the same page in assisting the learner in achieving better grades.
