I present more than five years’ experience in teaching physics at the university level. Through my work experience, I have gathered good research, analytical and communication skills and am able to present my ideas in a fluent and confident manner. I have an exceptional ability to rise up to new challenges and situations showing perseverance and commitment to meet set targets. Since the beginning of 2008 I was invited by the physics and maths departments to tutor their flagship courses EPH200S (Engineering Physics 2), PHY100S/PHY101S: (Mechanics, Heat and Electricity), PHY 201S: (Radiation, Quantum Physics, Electronics, Nuclear Physics) and so on.MAM1017F/MAM1018S, MAM1000W, MAM1004F and MAM1006H. These are core calculus courses which all engineering students have to pass in order to proceed to 2nd year and it is, without doubt, one of the most challenging. It is a robustly computational course that differentiates the UCT Engineering degree from all the other Engineering degrees in the country and perhaps on the continent. Over the past four years that I have been tutoring the course, I have become increasingly better at helping students learn and understand the course material. I have gained enormous experience in this regard, handling large groups of students and delivering content in an easy-to-understand manner. I feel that this knowledge would be of very high value to South Africa and it is my intention to give back in this regard. Read less
